The Way I Manage My Projects with brightpod
We are a large (for the Isle of Man) multipurpose entertainment complex spread over two sights:
The Villa Marina which is a modern venue capable of hosting shows, conferences, weddings and events. The Villa Marina is also home to a cinema and soft play area.
The Gaiety Theatre is a Victorian Theatre built in 1900 hosting local and international plays, concerts and comedians.
We have team members working in different locations on the island and in different venue/ offices. I meet with management and speak to our designer daily, where we make sure everything is on track and respond as needed.
I usually work 8am to 5pm depending on the day. Every day is different, but I usually start with emails and inquiries, then check on social media and schedule the days posts. I’m then onto Brightpod, all our design work is outsourced so we use Brightpod liaise with our designer to make sure all the days and weeks tasks are being completed, worked on or signed off.
We listen to BBC Radio 2 in the office so I like to make sure I get my daily dose of PopMaster (while working of course).
Throughout the day I’ll go to meetings and take calls all the time making sure tasks within Brightpod are on track. I also work on marketing plans for upcoming shows and make sure post-show stats are updated. I end the day going through emails, making sure Brightpod is up to date and checking social media.
a. I make sure to only check my emails once every 2 hours, it could consume my day and I wouldn’t get the daily tasks completed.
b. Using software tools like Hootsuite, Dropbox and last but not least… Brightpod! We've been using Brightpod for a while now and works perfectly for what we need.
c. I also make an effort to schedule meetings first thing in the morning. I don’t want to be interrupted with meetings in the middle of the day when I'm in "the zone”.
We have 30 projects and 8 team members.
No I have always used Brightpod, wouldn’t know what to do without it.
No not yet, but I’m sure I will at some point.
When I was introduced to Brightpod yeah there was a bit of a learning curve but that is to be expected with any new software. It was only a short learning curve a myself and the team have picked it up very quickly.
Probably the calendar, makes planning and organisation much easier. The task lists and tasks are also great. We create a new task list for each show or event, then add tasks to complete within that.
I wouldn’t know what to do, I would honestly be lost. I can’t imagine ever not using it!
The amount of emails we'd have to send would be crazy and it would be very confusing, I’m sure work would be missed or forgotten about.
Would highly recommend Brightpod, it is so easy to use and get to grips with. Our whole team really like working with it. Also the customer service we have received has been fantastic.
