“People buy what you believe instead of what you do” – Simon Sinek
We believe that you should take out time to do the things you love. Through better planning and organisation (using a system that you can rely on) you can save time and plough that time into spending time with the family, going on an adventure or just relaxing and doing nothing. When your work is in control, each day should feel like a holiday.
Over the years, this became our foundation to move forward with Brightpod.
People were managing projects on email and spreadsheets. We had to show them a smarter way to work. We would make sure Brightpod is easy to use, clean and yet feature-rich.
We measure success a bit differently than others.
1. To have time to do the things we love.
2. See Brightpod reach more people around the world.
3. Spend more time with the people we love.
4. Take frequent breaks to rejuvenate.
5. Building something that people love using each day.
If you are interested, here is our “gracious software” manifesto:
As software becomes “everywhere” there is a certain responsibility that we have when designing and developing software. Here is our checklist to make sure we always come up with superior, well designed software to seamlessly integrate technology into people’s lives.
Gracious software is zen-like and should make you feel at ease, calm and good when using it. Spending time with gracious software should be like taking a quiet walk in the garden.
Gracious software exhibits kindness. Messages (error, alerts) should be friendly, polite and NEVER overwhelming or threatening. In addition, we are have to always be kind and friendly when in conversation with customers.
Easy to Use
Gracious software is “grandma-proof”. If your grandma can’t navigate between pages then you need to go back to the drawing board.
Gracious software should show me the way and guide me to places I have never been before (only when I am ready for them).
A blank page with no data and a page with a lot of data are intimidating. Gracious software should make me feel right at home by designing pages that have just the right information for me to take the next step.
Fast, Smooth and Swift
Gracious software is not sluggish. It is swift. It respects your time and is fast.
Gracious software doesn’t make you think. It can calculate stuff. It will tell you when you are late or going to be late. It should be able to predict and foresee problems.
Gracious software looks clean, uncluttered and well designed. It is a pleasure to use gracious software every day.
Gracious software is power-packed yet is not complex to use. The beauty lies in its user-interface and how it makes people feel.
